The budget is crucial

Your budget is the first point to be defined

Usually it is the first question that a wedding planner asks the couple and usually the answer is: "we want to economize". But that "economize" needs to be quantified, by being objective and realistic with your aspirations.

Generally, the various items that make up the budget of a wedding are:

  • Travel and accommodation costs
  • Venue and catering rental
  • Stationery
  • Wedding clothes
  • Hairstylist and MakeUp Artist
  • Decorations
  • Rental car
  • Photographer and/or Video Maker
  • Musicians and/or disco
  • Wedding cake (and perhaps followed by an authentic Italian tradition, you should consider "Confettata e Bomboniere" i.e "Sweets table and Wedding favours for guests)
  • Open bar
  • Honeymoon.
Obviously, the total budget depends on the style you want for the big event and you need to rank each item of expenditure, according to the importance you place on each service. However, each item of expenditure must be balanced with the others. Spending a large part of the budget on a few elements only and scrimping on the rest, could have a disappointing result. My tip for you is to start from a simple idea and gradually build on that, as opposed to aiming too high and then having to cut back. This can be frustrating and surprisingly difficult.

Trying to do all this on your own, it can be very stressful. That is why it is important to hire a good wedding planner who will help you keep costs down, choosing the most suitable suppliers for your needs avoiding last minute expenses. Therefore, no surprises. The only surprise you are going to have, will be to see the final effect of your unique and amazing wedding.
